Globus projects fall into one of three groups: Official projects, Incubator projects or Deprecated projects.

a working product base: for technology projects this means a working codebase, for documentation projects this means a solid set of documentation
a group of dedicated committers
adoption of a bsd-style license
a sponsor within the Globus Alliance

Official Projects

Official Globus projects produce products which can be categorized along the following lines:

Distribution products: an integration of one or more Globus products for public distribution
Documentation products: release manuals, tutorials, and other types of documentation
Technology products: code libraries, service implementations, or other distinct software components
